CBC Listen App Reviews

I LOVE CBC Radio and Radio One! Im thrilled to now be able to hear my favorite radio channel on my iPhone here in CA, USA. Thank you CBC, and Thank You Canada!

my experts have told me its the peoples hardware that are causing problems with streaming, etc . . . . .

weird app issue. The fix described above works. Id bet this will reduce the CBCs listening audience significantly, at least in the near term. For an organization that runs mostly on tax dollars, thats not a big deal I guess.

I was required to install a new App with updated URLs. Doesnt work. You only get the on demand content from the day you install it. Im now doomed to spend the rest of my life listening to As It Happens from June 7. Before the alleged improvements it all worked fine.

This app is incredible! Its my favorite one! I was so disappointed that I couldnt listen to any CBC on my iPhone. Plus I moved from Canada to Oregon so i cant even catch it on the radio! This does it all. I listen to it everyday

The UI is very well-designed. Very easy to use. There might be some issues with previous versions so that someone complaint that there was nothing except a blank screen and ads. But this issue is not there right now at least.

Did you recently change all your stream addresses? None of them are working on this app, your site, or on a 3rd party streamer.

On launch of updated CBC Radio app, a dialog box informs me that music channels are migrating to CBC Music app (also mentioned in the apps description on the app store). At "OK" response, App Store is launched, followed by "your request could not be completed." A CBC Music app does not appear on the (US) App store. Is this intentional? Are US CBC fans to not be allowed access to CBC Music services on our iPads?

For the past few days when I choose a local steam on Radio One, it loads for a few seconds before the app shuts down and returns to my iPhone home screen. I miss my radio! Please fix this!!!!!

I too have just started having trouble with the CBC radio and news ap. Like the reviewer before me it just returns me to my home page. I have tried removing them and starting over but no luck. They work fine on my I-pad

For those with problems, at the prompt, choose cancel instead of ok, which should allow the app to launch. Good luck

Is it an app or just a picture? CBC - you need to put this in for repair. Hopefully the website streaming is still on.

UPDATE: my friend in Toronto had no problem downloading the new CBC Music streaming app, the app that CBC Radio "tries" to link us to. Unfortunately, it appears CBC fans outside Canada cant even see the app, let alone download it. I guess DRM and licensing are to blame. I get the same requester that pops up, and then the app store shuts down, stating the request cant be fulfilled. I too am in the U.S., and up until this update, had NO problem using radio one, two and three on my iPad. What gives, CBC? Is this bad code, or has CBC been pressured to deny America-based listeners? Ps...not all streams are denied, just my favorite ones. Can people writing reviews of this app please state if you are using it IN Canada, or OUTSIDE of Canada....that way, we can reason what the problem may be :)

Thats basically all you will use it for. I really wish the website browser worked properly. All it does is show an ad that you cant always exit.

See the remarks below. I also live in the US and cannot stream from this app. I used to LOVE the CBC jazz streams but this app now just crashes consistently! Fix this!

The "music" the play on here isnt really what I was looking for. This app is boring. Not a lot of stuff that is interesting.

It appears that CBC is shutting out foreign listeners. If you go to your PC and go on Itunes Radio you will have the same problem- deafening silence. Evey genre - dead.

Wont even launch since last update.

Thank you CBC from an American neighbor who appreciates your focus on the arts. This app is easy on the eyes, easy to use, and has introduced me to exceptional Radio.

Use this app almost daily here in Texas. The only problem is that is has occasionally just started playing while in my bag!!! This is the only app that has ever done this. Very embarrassing in class!
